I'm Byron Allen — a cybersecurity specialist with over a decade of experience, working with small and mid-sized businesses that need serious technical capability without hiring a full internal IT team. I'm based in South Africa and work with clients both locally and remotely, wherever they are.

My work spans a wide range: reviewing production trading software for real security exposures (leaked credentials, logic that behaved differently under review than in production — the kind of thing that only surfaces under a genuinely adversarial audit), building automation pipelines that turn multi-step manual processes into one command, integrating business systems like SAP Business One with custom tooling, and building phishing-detection and IT onboarding tooling that removes repetitive risk from day-to-day operations.

It didn't start in a boardroom — it started with wanting to know why something broken stops working, and how to make it run better than before. Technology is either an engine or a bottleneck, and I wanted to be the person who stays level-headed when a server drops or a mail gateway fails, and actually restores momentum. That's the thread running through everything I build, from trading algorithms to ERP integrations to threat defense: I go looking for the friction nobody's removed and the log dumps nobody wants to read, and I care about bringing enterprise-grade security standards down to something a small business can actually afford and use.

The lesson that's shaped how I work: the most elegant technical solution is worthless if it disrupts how people actually work day to day. Real security should feel invisible when it's working and dead simple when it isn't — you don't secure a system by locking the door and losing the key.
